Discover Campbell’s of Beauly, a Highland Outfitter based in the Scottish Highlands, specialising in Highland wear, Scottish country clothing, bespoke tailoring and traditional textiles since 1858.

What is Campbell’s of Beauly?

Campbell’s of Beauly is a Highland Outfitter based in the Scottish Highlands, established in 1858, specialising in authentic Highland wear, country clothing, bespoke tailoring and traditional textiles. Learn more about our heritage here.

What does a Highland Outfitter do?

A Highland outfitter creates and curates Highland clothing rooted in Scotland’s estate, formal, and country traditions. At Campbell’s of Beauly, this includes everything from traditional Highland wear such as kilts, tartans and formal dress, to Scottish country clothing designed for rural and sporting life.

Our offering spans tailored Highland wear for ceremonies and occasions, Scottish country clothing for everyday estate and outdoor living and sporting-inspired attire influenced by Highland field traditions.

Where is Campbell’s of Beauly based?

From the Highland village of Beauly to the coastal town of Dornoch, our two stores offer a journey through authentic Highland outfitting, where heritage tailoring, country clothing and timeless style are brought to life. Take a closer look here.

What makes Campbell’s of Beauly different?

Campbell’s of Beauly is a Highland outfitter with continuous heritage since 1858. We are not a modern interpretation of Highland style: we are part of its living history, shaped by generations of tailoring, country life and Highland tradition.

Our work spans authentic Highland wear, Scottish country clothing and bespoke tailoring, all rooted in the practical and formal dress of the Scottish Highlands. We also offer fabric by the metre for those creating their own garments or working with traditional Highland textiles.

We hold a Royal Warrant as a reflection of long-standing trust in our craftsmanship and service. It is not a symbols we trade on. It is the result of decades of quiet continuity, earned through consistency rather than reinvention.

We remain a Highland Outfitter in the truest sense: family-run, workshop-led and focused on doing things properly. We are not here to reinterpret tradition. We are here because we are part of it.

Are garments made in Scotland?

As a proud member of Made In Britain, we are committed to supporting British craftsmanship, heritage manufacturing and traditional skills. A significant part of our collection is designed and made in the UK, including many pieces produced in Scotland using time-honoured techniques and carefully selected materials.

We are a Highland Outfitter first and foremost, and provenance is at the heart of everything we do. That means working with the right makers for each garment, wherever they are based.

Alongside British and Scottish manufacturing, we also work with specialist suppliers in Europe and Ireland, chosen for their exceptional expertise in specific fabrics and traditions. This includes heritage materials such as Casentino wool from Italy, used in select garments where that particular textile history and performance are unmatched.

For us, authenticity is not about geography alone. It is about respecting origin, craft and quality. We choose partners based on skill, tradition and integrity, ensuring every piece reflects the highest standard of Highland Outfitting.

Do you offer bespoke tailoring?

At Campbell’s of Beauly, bespoke tailoring is at the heart of what we do. As a Highland Outfitter established in 1858, we create garments individually for each client, shaped by traditional Highland tailoring and decades of in-house experience.

Every bespoke commission begins with a private appointment at our tailoring rooms in Beauly. Here, our team takes time to understand fit, purpose and style before guiding you through cloth selection and design details. Garments are then crafted in our Beauly workshop, where skilled cutters and seamstresses create pieces ranging from Highland wear and kilts to sporting jackets and country tailoring.

Whether you are visiting us from the United Kingdom or travelling from overseas, appointments are essential and can be arranged in advance.
